Beat Street is a classic-style beat 'em up where you play a young hero who's mission it is to go head-to-head against the gangs who are terrorizing the poor, defenseless citizens of the city of Toko (suspiciously similar to Tokyo).
The controls in Beat Street are perfect for touchscreens, so you can play it vertically using only one finger. You can move your character by moving your finger around on the screen, and attack by tapping the screen repeatedly. Plus, if you slide your finger up, you can dish out special attacks.
The story mode in Beat Street lets you roam the streets of the city of Toko, while fighting against endless gangs. You can play either in single-player mode or in an online cooperative mode. And although there's only one character to play with in the beginning, you can unlock up to eight others to play with.
Beat Street is a clear tribute to the beat 'em ups of the 1990s: charming graphics, an awesome retro soundtrack, and controls that are perfect for touchscreens. What more could you ask for?
